Cristãos são mortos ao tentarem resgatar meninas sequestradas por muçulmanos na Nigéria

O cenário de perseguição religiosa aos cristãos na Nigéria já está sendo descrito como um verdadeiro “caos”. Quando não são atacados, os muçulmanos radicais também sequestram e obrigam meninas a se converterem ao islã. Algumas são feitas de “esposas” e outras de escravas sexuais.

Querendo impedir que mais um grupo de meninas fossem escravizadas, um grupo de cristãos decidiu tentar, por conta própria, resgatar as garotas. A iniciativa surgiu após o governo local não tomar providências, mesmo com o grande número de denúncias e casos de violência contra os cristãos.

No total, 12 cristãos foram mortos e outros 20 ficarm feridos em Kasuwan Magani, no norte da Nigéria, durante a tentativa de resgate, segundo informações da agência ‘Morning Star News’ publicadas na última terça-feira (27). “Os nomes dos mortos não estão prontamente disponíveis para mim no momento, mas posso confirmar que são cristãos mortos na área cristã da cidade”, disse James Madaki, da Igreja ‘Winning All’.

Ainda segundo Madaki, os extremistas quiseram espalhar pânico e terror na cidade, também queimando a casa de todos os moradores: “Os muçulmanos não apenas atacaram os cristãos que foram resgatar as meninas, mas também foram ao redor da cidade, atacando todos os cristãos que estavam em seu caminho e queimaram as casas dessas pessoas”, disse ela.

“Esta é a prática dos muçulmanos no estado de Kaduna. Eles sequestram pequenas garotas cristãs e as forçam a se tornarem muçulmanas. Quando os cristãos tentam impedir isso, os muçulmanos as atacam”, disse Omega Funom, um dos moradores locais.

Recentemente noticiamos outro caso semelhante, onde um grupo de muçulmanos da etnia Fulani, também da Nigéria, incendiou 12 casas e assassinou vários cristãos na aldeia de Zanwra. Na ocasião, o pastor Biri Gado, de uma igreja evangélica local, afirmou que apesar das denúncias, os militares não socorreram os cristãos da aldeia.

Ao que parece, a perseguição religiosa de muçulmanos contra os cristãos da Nigéria é algo chancelado pelas autoridades locais. Ou no mínimo ignorada. Para o Rev. John Hayap, porta-voz da Associação Cristã da Nigéria, no norte do país, a oração é a única alternativa, mas também o apelo por paz e tolerância:

“Eu me sinto muito triste com essa violência contra os cristãos, mas o que mais podemos fazer do que orar e pedir a intervenção de Deus? Continuaremos a pregar a paz e a tolerância em nossas igrejas, não importa o nível de provocação de nossos vizinhos muçulmanos”, disse ele.
